The County Attorney’s Office provides legal services to the Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator, all departments of County government and advisory boards and commissions when instructed by the County Commissioners. These services include:
Issuing advice and opinions on legal questions affecting the interests of the County.
Reviewing all deeds, bonds, contracts, and other legal papers involving the County's interests.
Handling virtually all civil litigation in which the County or its officers and employees are involved in their official capacity.
Attending all Board of County Commissioners meetings to give legal advice as the need arises.
Drafting local and State legislation and maintaining the County Code.
