Overview
This board shall assist the animal shelter in Calvert County in serving the needs of our community, will advise the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on matters such as; Shelter Policies & Operation, Five-Year Strategic Plan, Emergency Plan, Spay/Neuter Compliance, Feral Cats issues, Grants, Donations, Volunteers, and Periodic Reports to the BOCC.
Composition
There shall be seven members:
- 1 shall be a veterinarian, or vet technician with three or more years experience
- 2 shall be animal welfare organization members
- 3 citizens, where practicable, one from each election district
- The Animal Shelter Division Chief (ex-officio)
Meetings
As a precautionary measure to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to limit the number of people infected, the regular meetings will be held using a virtual platform. There will be a special meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2021. The posted agenda will contain the necessary call-in information to attend the meeting.
