Adult Basketball
Team registration is open for Parks & Recreation’s 18 & Over Adult Basketball League and has been extended to Monday, December 2, 2019. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Teams must have a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 15. Must be 18 years old by no later than December 31, 2019. Current high school students are ineligible.
Calvert County residents have first preference. Teams with 50 percent or more players residing outside the county may be bumped to allow space for county residents. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons and evenings. Tentative start date is TBD.
This season’s league fee is $600.00 per team. Fees cover the cost of League Coordinators, Officials, Post-Season Tournament, Awards and Administrative Fees. Intramural Youth Basketball
Registration for the 2019-20 Intramural Basketball Season is CLOSED
Player registration opens on July 25th and runs through November 27th, 2019. Children in grades 4 – 12 are eligible. Registration fee is $80.00 for the first family member and $75.00 for each additional family member.
The Intramural Youth Basketball League is intended to provide an organized and instructional basketball program with emphasis on exercise, fun and good sportsmanship. With this philosophy, participants can look forward to a relaxed but structured atmosphere. Children are encouraged to register for the middle district in which they reside. Those areas are as follows: Northern, Windy Hill, Plum Point/Calvert and Mill Creek/Southern.
Coaches are always needed. If you are interested in coaching, please fill out and return the attached Coaches Application or contact us at contact the Sports Office at sports@calvertcountymd.gov.
If you are interested in coaching Youth Basketball, please download the application and you can scan and email the completed application and coach’s pledge to: nate.smith@calvertcountymd.gov or taylor.morton@calvertcountymd.gov.

Intramural Youth Basketball Tournament - updated 3/2
Rookie Basketball
This program is designed to give children in grades 2 & 3 a fun introduction to the game of basketball. Basic fundamentals and individual skills are rolled into fun activities. The program meets once a week on Saturdays, from January 4 – February 22, 2020. Cost is $50.00 for the first family member then $45.00 for the second.
Each child receives a colorful Rookie Basketball t-shirt. Registration starts July 25, 2019. The following sessions will be offered:

Youth Wrestling
Information on the 2019-2020 Youth Wrestling Program for children ages 4-14 or currently in 8th grade is included in Parks & Recreation Fall/Holiday Program brochure.
Wrestling practices are from Mid-November through the second week of March with matches held mostly on Saturdays starting in January.
CCPR is a member of the Southern Maryland Youth Wrestling League as well as the Anne Arundel Youth Wrestling League. Matches are held in Calvert, Charles, Prince Georges, St. Mary’s and Anne Arundel Counties. All participants must possess a 2018-19 USA Wrestling Card. Go to www.themat.com to register. The fee for a Folk-style card to wrestle in Maryland is $15.00. This provides additional insurance to the participant and is mandatory for all wrestlers before they can participate in matches. Additional fees (uniforms, tournaments, additional league, shoes and headgear) may be required. Coaches will update parents on additional costs at their first meeting.
CCPR sponsors three clubs in Calvert County. The Northern area practices at Plum Point Middle School, Central at Calvert Middle School and the Southern at Patuxent High School. Practice nights vary but are traditionally held two to three nights a week and are usually divided based on ages, weights and/or experience levels. Practice times are typically from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The cost for CCPR Youth Wrestling is $80.00 per child, $75.00 for the second family member (see additional fees above). Registration starts July 25 and is taken through December 31 or sooner if clubs fill.
Volunteer Coaches are an essential part of any youth sports program. If you want to dedicate your time helping children learn the fundamentals, improve their skills and develop a better understanding of the sport, please complete and return the application found here. Coaches will also need to initiate their your online background check online.
